Who is the Watcher
© 2003 Tupelo Kenyon

Who is the watcher, who sits in the stillness and knows
And who is the looker, who notices the king wears no clothes
Who is the seer, who sees beyond the mind
And who is the seeker, who’ll find ... The grand design

It’s everyone, and nobody at all
Crying out, and heeding the call
Reaching out . . . it’s the silent kind
Reaching in . . . with an eye on the mind

Cause time keeps the sun shadowed from the face
It’s dawning is now and here is the place
Not up ahead and not back then
What else is there . . . If not now . . . When?

Chorus

All aboard to the future, well on the way
Tomorrow,s the thing . . . And never today
Or back to the past, that used to be how
This moment is a gift . . . It’s presence . . . Now

It’s not about a stepping stone to somewhere over there
But the step itself, this one now, presently aware
A journey of a million steps won’t happen overnight
Awaken from this dream of time, and let this step take flight

Break (verse structure)

Who is the listener, who sits in the stillness and knows
And who is the looker, who notices the king wears no clothes
Who is the seer, who sees beyond the mind
And who is the seeker, who’ll find ... The grand design

.... the being beyond the thinker
In the stillness beneath the din
In the joy beyond the pain
In this moment we’re living in
And who is the watcher . . . Who is the watcher . . . Who is the watcher
(repeat and fade)
